NATIONAL BLACK HIV/AIDS AWARENESS DAY

Today is that day, where we can make the biggest difference in the lives of Black People everywhere. It's National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day and now is the time for us to get educated about HIV/AIDS in our local communities; get tested and know our status; get involved in leadership roles within our locales to be a part of the decision making for resources and information disseminated to our people; and lastly - get treated for those newly testing HIV+ or those who have not accessed treatment services or information.

We have to pause today and let this be the first day of a long journey where we invoke the act that Black Life matters. Nobody is disposable. It is going to take the entire village of Black People in the Diaspora to help turn this epidemic around.

Think about what we have been through, 300+ years of slavery, the largest Black Holocaust and yet we are still here. We are the people who refuse to die. Don't think not thinking about HIV; not looking at someone who you know has it; or not talking about it will make it go away.

Join in the fight and let us join hands, hearts and minds and carry the message of prevention, care and treatment safely to future generations to come.

SUPER BOWL XLV: ¿R U READY?

Are you ready for some super excitement on Super Bowl Sunday? The Super Bowl game is to straight men (and ambiguously straight females) as the Oscars are to gays and ambiguously straight male screen fans. Each year the top teams from their respective divisions compete for the top honor in all of professional football: The Super Bowl ring and though the men pictured here didn't make it tonight's showdown, I am sure we can find room @ a party we are attending for them...right?

CHRISTIANS ARE ATHEISTS!

A Jesus would not be impressed by those who've clung to words purported to have been said by him, but mostly by the behavior of people who think they are ‘saved by him’! In corporate sales on Wall St., I learned a saying that surely applies here, ‘When you’re hot, you’re hot, when you’re not, you’re not, and you can’t beg, borrow, steal or smell it downwind’! Somewhere in the bible people are classified as either cold, lukewarm, or hot for Jesus. Well, cold and lukewarm is what all but a few Christians are, and those that are HOT, are open to all information of love and awareness regardless of whether it come from the bible or not!

ALL BY MYSELF

One of the more notable cover versions of "All by Myself" was recorded by Céline Dion in 1996. It was the fourth (or third, depending on the country) hitsingle from her album Falling into You.[4] with a belted high F ( F5 ) sustained 12 seconds.[5] Produced by David Foster at Compass Point Studios in The Bahamas, it was released on October 7, 1996 in Europe, January 13, 1997 in Australia, and March 11, 1997 in North America.
There were three music videos made. The first one was released in October 1996. It contains fragments from Dion's photo session for the Falling into Youalbum cover and some scenes from her Live à Paris concert. It was made for the single version. The second version was made for the UK market with the same white t-shirt scenes but adding footage of a young couple in love at Christmas time, instead of scenes from Dion's concert. This was made for the album version. Finally, a live music video was released in March 1997 in North America (from the 1996 concert in Montreal).
Céline Dion performed this song many times during world tours, TV shows and music events such as the Grammy Awards (1997), Billboard Music Awards(1997) and Bambi Awards (1996). A performance from her 2008-2009 Taking Chances Tour can be found on the Taking Chances World Tour: The ConcertDVD/CD.
Dion recorded also a Spanish version of "All by Myself," called "Sola Otra Vez" (English: By Myself Again). It was added to the Falling into You Latin American/Spanish edition, and as a B-side to other singles from that album. This version became available worldwide on Dion's later compilation The Collector's Series, Volume One.
The "All by Myself" single became one of Dion's biggest hits in the United States, reaching number 1 on the Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks (for three weeks) and the Latin Pop Airplay (two weeks). It peaked at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 (number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay and number 5 on the Hot 100 Singles Sales). It was also a top 10 hit in France, United Kingdom, Wallonia in Belgium and the Republic of Ireland. In Canada, "All by Myself" was released as a promotional single only, hitting number 1 on the Adult Contemporary Chart. "All by Myself" was certified gold in the U.S. (500,000), and silver in the UK (200,000) and France (165,000).
The track was included on some editions of Dion's greatest hits All the Way… A Decade of Song in 1999 and on My Love: Essential Collection in 2008.

FOR YOU I WILL

"For You I Will" is a pop ballad written by Diane Warren and performed by Monica. Her version was included on the soundtrack to the film Space Jam. In1997, when released as a single, the song became a top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 as well as Billboards R&B chart. It also experienced some success internationally. The song's lyrics involve the singer pledging love and devotion and promising to help an unnamed "you" overcome any difficulty, regardless of the magnitude. The song also heard on her second 1998 album, The Boy Is Mine.
The song debuted at an impressive number on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number four, becoming Monica's second top five single and one of her most successful songs. It also went platinum. In New Zealand the single peaked at number 2, becoming her most successful single in the country after "The Boy Is Mine."
"For You I Will" was ranked #13 on Top Hot 100 Hits of 1997.
The music video of "For You I Will" was directed by Francis Lawrence (known for his work for Britney SpearsDestiny's ChildJanet JacksonJennifer Lopez & Justin Timberlake) and was filmed in the movie studio, in New York. It inter-cuts scenes from Space Jam with scenes featuring Monica.

OLDIE, BUT GOODIE: AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH...

OLDIE, BUT GOODIE: HOMOSEXUALITY: ¿WHAT DOES IT MEAN 2 U?

This blog entry was done because there are some people in the world believe that our sexual orientation is a choice. Leading a life where you accept your sexuality can be a challenging choice in many societies throughout the globe. Everyone has their own battles and choices to make, and the norms of societies may not necessarily be normal for you. If you do feel that you want to make the choice to accept your sexuality, it would be best to find friends and loved ones to support you, but do not feel - or let yourself be - pressured into believing that you should "change your ways". If anyone tries to force an opinion on you that you do not agree with, such that your desires themselves are unnatural, sinful or symptoms of a mental disorder, look elsewhere for support. There is no evidence that "helping homosexuals to become heterosexual" is possible, and treatments to "change" sexual orientation that were common in the 1960s and 1970s were very damaging to those patients who underwent them and affected no change in their sexual orientation. Remember that you didn't choose to be attracted to members of the same sex, and that attempts to change your orientation are usually painful and pointless in the end.

THIS IS FOR THE YOUNG GAY MEN OUT THERE

THIS E-MAIL WAS ADDRESSED TO THE YOUNG GAY MEN OUT THERE WHO SEEMS TO KNOW THAT BEAUTY FADES & DUMB IS FOREVER. SO I THOUGHT ABOUT THE MANY OLDER GAY MEN OUT THERE THAT FEEL THE STING OF THE AGING PROCESS IN THE GAY COMMUNITY & I THOUGHT THIS WAS A NICE WAY OF LETTING THEM KNOW THAT OLDER MEN ARE STILL HUMAN!

¿AM I ASKING TO MUCH OF YOU?

I want you to want a man with a head on his shoulders
Who can stand on his own two feet
With goals, dreams who will battle defeat
A man who will not depend on you to carry the full load

I want you to
look for a man who will take responsibility for his life
Who will stop blaming his last lover, mother, father or his ex-wife
But instead will consider his own actions, take control of his own life
Am I asking for too much of you?

I am NOT mandating perfection, I just want you to be determined
To have someone you don't have to drag with you, but who will walk beside me
Someone who even though he may be jobless, will satisfy you
In ways that can't been seen by no one else but you!

Yes, he should compliment you in bed, that's important
The mere fact that you can fcuk til dawn is dead, is AMAZING!
But that's not all I want for you, how about a little conversation every now and then
A little bit of affection every now and again
Cause If a dick is all he has, you can get that anywhere.

I'm tired of seeing you being alone,
But I refuse to tell you to settle for a man who just wants to hit it
I don't care if he's a pretty young thing that can make you speak in tongues,
Or that ‘sugar daddy’ you long for
I just want you to want someone with substance, who's there when you come home
Who will love you for you!

So Tell Me, Am I asking too much of you?

YOU ARE NOT COMPLETELY GAY UNTIL...

I got this in an e-mail and thought I'd share it with you guys. It had a different title, but I changed it to something more fitting...I must say I was humored by this email. I say humored because I'm sure we have all met one of the types of men! And I'm positive some of us fall into one, if not, more of the "types." I would even go as far to say that these men are a rite of passage and if you haven't met your quota, take note and get to work...LMFAO!

RUPAUL'S DRAG RACE, SEASON 3: EPISODE 2 - QUEENS IN SPACE

Last night’s episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race launched with the queens doing a mini-challenge centered around ESP, or Extra Sensory Perception, where the ladies paired up and one half of them tried to guess what their partner was sporting, wig-, pussycat- or boa-wise. (As you might guess, none of them were too good in this situation.) But the most hilarious thing about that is that the ESP challenge was the least weird thing about the episode: Before long, during the show’s hour, the ladies were donning wacky, futuristic costumes (see: above!) and, while split into two teams with leaders Mariah and Phoenix, made (ridiculously laughable) “movie trailers” for two fictional films, Drag Queens in Outer Space: From Earth to Uranus and its sequel Drag Queens in Outer Space 2: Return to Uranus.

RUPAUL'S DRAG RACE, SEASON 3: EPISODE 1 - CASTING EXTRAVAGANZA

It was a foregone conclusion that RuPaul would eventually bring back a sashayed, old queen from a past season to be a contestant again on RuPaul’s Drag Race. In the reality competition world, that move is nearly older than RuPaul herself. But the gal that was chosen for this extremely illustrious distinction was completely out of left field: It was none other than last season’s polarizing first-episode cast-off, the delightfully named Shangela! “And it’s Shangela!” said fellow contestant Mariah, in reaction. “Halle-lou!” she added, referencing Shangela’s “famous” sound bite. Halle-lou, indeed!
